Position Overview

The Media Planning Assistant plays a crucial role in supporting the development of effective advertising strategies tailored to diverse audiences. This position involves:

  • Data Analysis: Collecting and interpreting marketing, client, and industry data to assess advertising and media requirements, particularly in relation to diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives.
  • Strategic Insight: Understanding marketing goals and the dynamics of human-product and human-media interactions.
  • Media Recommendations: Evaluating various media options and making informed recommendations to optimize budget allocation across channels, ensuring inclusive and impactful media plans.
  • Campaign Oversight: Maintaining quality control and alignment with media plan objectives, while preparing performance reports for campaigns.
  • Research Utilization: Leveraging syndicated media and research resources to effectively engage diverse audiences.
  • Communication: Clearly articulating media objectives and strategies to internal teams, including Investment, Social, Programmatic, Precision, Apex, and Search.
  • Client Presentations: Assisting in presenting media plans to client brand teams.
  • Supplier Relations: Building and nurturing relationships with diverse media suppliers and staying informed about market trends and demographic shifts.
  • Collaboration: Working closely with external agency partners to ensure cohesive media strategies.
  • Account Management: Actively participating in account status meetings and contributing to the development of points of view regarding DEI opportunities.
  • Financial Management: Involvement in the billing process, ensuring accurate tracking of budgets and client invoicing.
  • Training Participation: Engaging in mandatory training sessions to enhance skills and knowledge.
Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A Bachelor’s degree, preferably in advertising, marketing, business administration, or communications.
  • Experience with media partners that cater to diverse audiences.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present effectively.
  • Proven negotiation skills.
  • The ability to collaborate across multiple teams while managing a high volume of work and meeting tight deadlines.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in mathematics.
  • Effective use of media research and reporting tools.
  • Technical proficiency in media systems and Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
