Child and Adolescent Mental Health Clinician

Fraser Health is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Pediatric Emergency Clinician to join our team. As a key member of our mental health services, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to children and adolescents in emergency situations.
Key Responsibilities- Screening and Assessment: Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments to identify client and family needs, and develop treatment recommendations.
- Crisis Intervention: Provide crisis intervention services to children, adolescents, and families, including short-term follow-up treatment and case management.
- Collaboration and Consultation: Work collaboratively with emergency department staff, community mental health teams, and other service providers to ensure effective patient care and discharge planning.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient assessments, care plans, and interventions, and provide regular updates to relevant stakeholders.
- Professional Development: Participate in ongoing education and training to enhance skills and knowledge in child and adolescent mental health, and contribute to the development of educational workshops and resources for mental health professionals and community partners.
- Education and Experience: Master's degree in Social Work, Clinical Counselling, or a related field, with a minimum of two years' experience in child and adolescent mental health.
- Registration and Certification: Eligible for registration with a relevant professional association, and possession of a valid BC Driver's License.
- Skills and Abilities: Comprehensive knowledge of community response procedures, mental health assessment, and crisis intervention techniques; ability to establish rapport with clients and families, and communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
