Pediatric Emergency Clinician

Fraser Health is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Pediatric Emergency Clinician to join our team. As a key member of our mental health services, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to children and adolescents in emergency situations.
Key Responsibilities- Screening and Assessment: Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments to identify client and family needs, and develop treatment recommendations.
- Crisis Intervention: Provide crisis intervention services to children, adolescents, and families, including short-term follow-up treatment and case management.
- Collaboration and Consultation: Work closely with emergency department staff, community mental health teams, and other service providers to ensure seamless care coordination and effective patient flow.
- Care Planning and Coordination: Develop and implement individualized care plans, and facilitate transitions to aftercare services.
- Patient Advocacy: Provide patient advocacy services, including assistance with accessing community resources and navigating the healthcare system.
- Education and Training: Participate in educational workshops and presentations to promote mental health awareness and provide training to healthcare professionals and community partners.
- Quality Improvement: Contribute to quality improvement initiatives by identifying patient care issues, collecting data, and recommending changes to practices and procedures.
To be successful in this role, you will require:
- A Master's degree in Social Work, Clinical Counselling, or a related field.
- Two years of recent related clinical experience in child and adolescent mental health, including assessment, individual, family, and group interventions.
- Eligibility for registration with a relevant professional association.
- A valid BC Driver's License and access to a personal vehicle for work-related purposes.
