Position Overview

The Logistics Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing a cross-dock and warehouse area, playing a crucial role in enhancing the logistics functions of CMH. This position emphasizes cost management, operational efficiency, and effective team leadership. Reporting to the Supply Chain Director, the manager will lead all facets of warehouse and distribution operations to optimize performance and uphold CMH's standards of excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Warehouse Optimization: Implement strategic initiatives to refine warehouse layouts and workflows, aiming to boost efficiency and minimize costs. Introduce innovative technologies and best practices to enhance distribution operations.
  • Budget Management: Develop and oversee budgets for warehousing and distribution, pinpointing areas for cost savings and operational improvements. Analyze financial data to track expenses and inform decisions that enhance cost-effectiveness.
  • Team Leadership: Guide and motivate the warehouse and distribution team, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement. Recruit and train team members, ensuring alignment with CMH's core values.
  • Performance Monitoring: Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess warehouse and distribution effectiveness, implementing corrective measures as necessary. Collaborate with other departments to ensure cohesive supply chain processes.
  • Compliance Assurance: Ensure adherence to regulatory standards and safety protocols in warehousing and distribution. Proactively identify and mitigate risks to protect CMH's reputation and assets.
  • Support the development and implementation of health and safety, sustainability, and diversity initiatives.
  • Assist in emergency response situations as required.
  • Engage with guests and employees during site visits as needed.

Qualifications

  • Degree or diploma in supply chain management, logistics, or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of five years of progressive experience in logistics and distribution management, demonstrating a successful track record in operational excellence.
  • Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) and transportation management systems (TMS) is advantageous.
  • Proven leadership abilities with a focus on inspiring teams in a dynamic environment.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

Working Conditions
