Position Summary

The Logistics Operations Technician plays a crucial role in facilitating the efficient loading and unloading of products and raw materials to meet customer production and shipping requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Accurately load materials such as Propylene (C3), Butadiene (C4), and Pyrolis (C5) using scales.
  • Handle the loading and unloading of poly pellets.
  • Manage the offloading of Hexene, Octene, Metal Alkyl, and Fresh Solvent.
  • Operate forklifts and manage bagging line operations.
  • Control valves and diverters, demonstrating an understanding of actuator and digital input systems.
  • Load glycol into trucks and railcars efficiently.
  • Support loading operations by running necessary panels.
  • Collaborate with team members and external service providers to ensure seamless shipping and receiving operations.
  • Actively engage in Environmental, Health, and Safety (EH&S) programs.
  • Utilize established tools, processes, and procedures to maintain operational efficiency.
  • Adhere to the department's Operating Discipline Management System (ODMS).
  • Follow prescribed work processes, including Supply Chain Material Flow and Global Maintenance Work Processes.
  • Wear personal protective equipment as required, including respirators and other safety gear.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, candidates should possess the following:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
  • A minimum of 6 months of relevant experience is required.

Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to work effectively under pressure.
  • Excellent communication skills, with proficiency in verbal, non-verbal, and written communication.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
  • Team-oriented mindset with the ability to collaborate with others.

Language Proficiency

Candidates must be able to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals. Effective writing skills for reports and correspondence are essential, as well as the ability to present information clearly to groups.

Mathematical Skills

Proficiency in basic mathematical operations, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division, is required. Candidates should be able to compute rates, ratios, and percentages.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense to follow instructions and solve practical problems in various situations.

Physical Demands

This position requires frequent standing and walking, with occasional lifting of heavy objects (over 50 pounds). Specific vision abilities include close vision and depth perception.

Work Environment

The role involves working outdoors in varying weather conditions, with exposure to fumes, airborne particles, and toxic chemicals. Employees must be capable of wearing necessary protective equipment.
