Environmental Sustainability Specialist

We are committed to protecting the environment and promoting sustainable development. As an Environmental Sustainability Specialist, you will play a key role in our efforts to reduce waste and promote environmentally friendly practices.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct policy research and analysis to inform waste management strategies
  • Develop and implement waste reduction and recycling programs
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to promote sustainable development and reduce waste
  • Assist in the development of environmental policies and procedures
  • Conduct feasibility studies and material flow analyses to identify opportunities for waste reduction
  • Develop and implement circular economy strategies to reduce waste and promote sustainable development
  • Provide technical expertise to support the development of solid waste master plans and strategies
  • Develop and participate in public consultation programs to engage stakeholders and promote sustainable development
Requirements:
  • Post-secondary education in environmental planning, environmental policy, waste management planning, or a related field
  • 5-7 years of experience in the waste management industry
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Fluency with MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Project, PowerPoint)
  • Strong time management and organizational skills
  • Familiarity with Provincial and Federal Policy and Legislation
  • Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle
