We are seeking a highly skilled Solid Waste Planner to join our team at GHD. As a key member of our Canadian Operations, you will play a critical role in shaping our communities' waste management policies and strategies.
Key Responsibilities- Policy Research and Development: Conduct in-depth research on waste management policies and legislation to inform our company's strategies and recommendations.
- Proposal Writing and Project Management: Lead the development of proposals for new projects and manage project teams to ensure successful project delivery.
- Approval and Permit Applications: Assist project teams with the preparation and submission of approval and permit applications.
- Report Compilation and Drafting: Lead the compilation and drafting of reports and summary documents for stakeholders.
- Public Consultation and Engagement: Coordinate public consultation events and develop public-facing content to engage with stakeholders.
- Technical Contribution to Master Plans: Provide technical expertise to develop solid waste master plans and strategies.
- A post-secondary education in environmental planning, environmental policy, waste management planning, environmental science, or a related discipline.
- 5-7 years of project experience in the waste management industry.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work well with people.
- Fluency with MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Project, PowerPoint).
- Strong time management and organizational skills.
- Familiarity with Provincial and Federal Policy and Legislation.
- Experience working with First Nations (specifically in the waste sector) would be an asset.
- Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle.
