Overview of the Role
The Senior Analyst will deliver both administrative and analytical support to the Credit Planning division at Shinhan Bank Canada, focusing on the strategic planning and execution of loan products, policies, and guidelines. This role involves assisting in the management, reporting, and research of market offerings within the financial services sector. Reporting directly to the Manager of Credit Planning, this individual will aid in the collection, consolidation, and analysis of critical business data related to client, product, and segment profitability, as well as activity-based processes, revenue streams, and cost factors. Additionally, the Senior Analyst will be responsible for mentoring and guiding junior associates and administrative staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Track industry trends and assist in the research, development, and rollout of innovative loan products and services.
- Support the evaluation of mortgage loan policies, procedures, services, products, and documentation to ensure compliance with relevant regulations and internal policies.
- Draft or contribute to comprehensive reports for senior management, parent bank, regulatory bodies, and the board of directors.
- Conduct quality assurance on lending applications to verify adherence to policies and ensure data integrity.
- Assist the Credit Planning team in researching and developing new lending solutions.
- Collaborate with the Credit Planning team to implement modifications in the internal banking system for new products and services, data aggregation, reporting, and enhancement of existing lending workflows.
- Support the Credit Planning team in improving operational efficiencies, identifying and resolving issues, and enhancing the effectiveness of assigned functions.
- Provide training and guidance to branches and Credit Analysis & Adjudication teams regarding the bank's products, policies, and procedures.
- Manage the administrative needs of the department.
- Engage in special project support as required.
Educational Qualifications
A Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field is required.
Experience Requirements
- A minimum of 3 years in the lending sector.
- Over 3 years of experience within the Canadian Banking System.
- Direct credit experience in the banking or financial services industry is preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Exceptional attention to detail.
- Strong verbal, written, and presentation communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage time effectively and handle multiple tasks to meet deadlines.
- Capability to analyze, assess, and provide actionable insights.
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues.
- Bilingual proficiency in Korean and English is required.
- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
