Job Summary

Medavie Blue Cross is seeking a highly skilled Team Leader Medical Underwriting to lead and develop a diverse team responsible for Medical Underwriting of individual and group benefits. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in operational management, leadership, and customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Team Leadership: Oversee the team's day-to-day operations, ensuring adherence to organizational policies and procedures.
  • Performance Management: Manage team activities, including recruitment, goal setting, performance reviews, and employee development.
  • Training and Development: Coordinate with the Training Consultant to optimize training materials and activities, ensuring team members have the necessary skills to excel in their roles.
  • Process Improvement: Analyze individual and team performance, identifying opportunities for process improvement and implementing changes to enhance efficiency and productivity.
  • Reporting and Analytics: Provide accurate reporting to management, analyzing trends and anticipating service level impacts.
  • Thought Leadership: Contribute to cost optimization initiatives and manage escalated service issues, ensuring seamless customer experiences.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Represent the team at meetings, collaborating with other team leaders and stakeholders to drive business results.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in business or a related field.
  • Work Experience: 3-5 years of operational experience, with 2-3 years in leadership roles.
  • Skills: Strong customer service, communication, analytical, and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Computer Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft applications, with Salesforce familiarity beneficial.
  • Language Skills: Bilingualism advantageous.
