Salary Range: $119,068 - $140,080 - $161,092 annually (details below)

Work Hours: Standard (37.5 hours per week)
Work Arrangement: Hybrid - (Remote within BC - Proximity to an FNHA office)
Role Overview
In the capacity of Director of Operations, you will oversee the operational management of medical personnel, including governance, credentialing, and contracting, in alignment with federal and provincial regulations, policies, and procedures. The Director of Operations is responsible for formulating and executing human resource strategies, which encompass proposed organizational frameworks, qualification standards, recruitment processes, compensation structures, cultural safety and humility benchmarks, workplace conduct standards, continuing medical education, and leadership development initiatives, particularly in relation to the recruitment of medical professionals for Primary Care projects spearheaded by BC First Nations. Additionally, this role entails guiding the planning and execution of medical administration initiatives that pertain to the provision of physician services within BC First Nation-led Primary Care projects. You will also cultivate and sustain strategic partnerships with the provincial Ministry of Health and all provincial health authorities, alongside Indigenous Services Canada and Health Canada at the federal level, with the objective of advancing medical governance matters while ensuring the medical staff's perspectives are integrated into the planning and decision-making processes of the projects.

To excel in this position, you will possess:
Educational Qualifications
A Bachelor's degree in Public Health Administration, Health Care Administration, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master's degree is advantageous.Professional Experience
Significant and relevant experience collaborating with Medical Staff. Extensive experience within BC's healthcare system (typically acquired over 8-10 years). Experience engaging with Indigenous individuals, communities, and/or organizations in health and wellness contexts. Proven track record in planning, supervising, and evaluating programs and services. Experience in medical affairs and/or medical staff governance is a considerable asset.Knowledge Base
Comprehensive understanding of FNHA's operations and the health and wellness landscape and governance model in BC as it pertains to First Nations. In-depth knowledge of Physician compensation frameworks, the Physician Master Agreement, Joint Standing Committees, and contract templates. Familiarity with Nurse Practitioners' contracts and compensation structures. Profound understanding of First Nations health and wellness system requirements and social determinants of health in BC, including insights from the In Plain Sight report and its recommendations. Knowledge of the Primary Care landscape in BC, especially concerning BC First Nation-led Primary Care initiatives. Awareness of Public Health systems and Indigenous health frameworks in BC. The salary range represents the minimum and maximum annual compensation based on full-time equivalent hours.
Employees are typically hired, transferred, or promoted within the minimum and midpoint of the range based on their knowledge, skills, abilities, and experience in relation to the role requirements.
The top 10% of the pay range is designated for individuals who are industry experts with exceptional experience and competencies required to perform all duties and responsibilities at a superior capability level.
As a health and wellness organization, FNHA adheres to the Provincial Public Health Order. We maintain a mandatory COVID-19 vaccination policy for all employees at the First Nations Health Authority, requiring proof of vaccination upon selection for employment.
