Key Responsibilities
The Benefits Administration Supervisor will play a crucial role in managing and supporting all employee benefit initiatives across Canada and the U.S. The responsibilities include:
- Overseeing and guiding the benefits team.
- Providing expert assistance and solutions to employees, management, and internal departments regarding benefits-related inquiries.
- Creating, updating, and implementing necessary revisions to policy documents and procedural manuals.
- Managing the enrollment, modifications, and terminations of benefits for U.S. employees using internal systems and provider platforms.
- Handling communications related to COBRA eligibility for U.S. staff.
- Developing strategies for case management, overseeing claims reporting, and managing short-term and long-term disability claims.
- Acting as the primary contact for disability claims, ensuring accurate completion of required documentation.
- Serving as a liaison between the organization and providers to resolve billing discrepancies.
- Overseeing the development and enhancement of the company's Wellness Program in collaboration with the Wellness Program Facilitator.
- Conducting quarterly and annual calculations for the company's retirement matching programs.
- Facilitating meetings on various topics, including retirement committee reviews and updates on benefits programs.
Qualifications
- Post-secondary education in a relevant field; equivalent experience may be considered.
- CEBS designation is preferred.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in Group Benefits Administration and Claims Management.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Ability to manage high-pressure situations with professionalism.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience handling confidential information.
- Meticulous attention to detail.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
- Proven skills in prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines.
- Customer service-oriented approach.
- Ability to work collaboratively as well as independently.
