Key Responsibilities
The selected candidate will oversee and provide support for all employee benefit programs across Canada and the U.S. The role encompasses:
- Leading and mentoring the benefits team.
- Offering internal assistance and resolving inquiries from employees, management, and benefit providers.
- Creating, updating, and implementing necessary modifications to policy documents and procedures.
- Managing benefit enrollments and modifications for U.S. employees in internal systems and provider portals, ensuring accurate documentation.
- Coordinating communication regarding COBRA eligibility for U.S. staff.
- Developing case management approaches and overseeing claims reporting, including STD, LTD, and MPI claims, while collaborating on return-to-work strategies.
- Acting as the primary contact for disability claims, ensuring compliance with employer requirements.
- Facilitating communication between the organization and providers to resolve billing discrepancies.
- Overseeing the Wellness Program in collaboration with the Wellness Program Facilitator.
- Calculating company contributions for the RRSP/DPSP matching program.
- Organizing meetings for various committees to review investment outcomes and provide updates on benefits programs.
Qualifications
- Post-secondary education in a relevant field; equivalent experience may be considered.
- CEBS designation is advantageous.
- A minimum of 3 years' experience in Group Benefits Administration and Claims Management.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Ability to manage high-pressure situations with professionalism.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Experience handling confidential information.
- Meticulous attention to detail.
- Self-motivated with the capacity to work independently.
- Proven skills in prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Customer service-oriented mindset.
- Able to work collaboratively as well as independently.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and time-management skills.
