About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Benefits Supervisor to join our team at EQ3. As a key member of our Human Resources department, you will be responsible for the oversight and support of all Canadian and U.S benefit programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Supervision
    • Supervise, lead, and support the benefits team to ensure the successful implementation and administration of employee benefits programs.
  • Benefits Administration
    • Provide internal support and resolution to employees, managers, internal departments, and providers on benefits matters, ensuring timely and accurate responses.
    • Develop, maintain, and implement appropriate changes in numerous policy booklets, manuals, and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Benefits Management
    • Manage benefit enrollments, changes, and terminations of U.S. employees in internal Benefits systems (Dayforce, ADP, Vensure) and provider portals for all benefit plans and 401(k), ensuring accurate and timely processing.
    • Handle all communication related to COBRA eligibility for U.S. employees, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Claims Management
    • Develop case management strategies, manage claims reporting, and ongoing management of STD, LTD, and MPI claims, ensuring timely and accurate resolution.
    • Facilitate and work with internal departments and providers on return-to-work plans for all Canadian and U.S. employees.
  • Communication and Liaison
    • Main contact for Disability claims for internal departments, providers, and employees, completing and ensuring all information is correct per the employer required STD claim form.
    • Liaison between company and providers when U.S. billing discrepancies occur, assisting provider and internal departments to clear discrepancy.
  • Wellness Program
    • Responsible for the oversight, support, and developmental growth of the organization's Wellness Program in conjunction with the Wellness Program Facilitator for Canada and U.S.
  • Reporting and Compliance
    • Conduct Quarterly and Annual calculation for company RRSP/DPSP matching program, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience
    • Post-secondary education in a related field, such as Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
    • A minimum of 3 years in Group Benefits Administration and Claims Management role, with experience working with Canadian and U.S. benefit programs.
  • Skills and Qualifications
    • CEBS designation is preferred.
    • Fluent working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to handle high-demand situations in a professional manner.
    • Ability to work with confidential data, with a high attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
    • Self-starter, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
    • Proven ability to prioritize, set, and meet deadlines while working under tight constraints, with a strong ability to manage multiple tasks to completion at the same time.
    • Customer service mindset, with the ability to promote and value diversity of thoughts, perspectives, and expressions throughout the organization.
