About the Role

The Hamilton Regional Indian Centre is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated individual to fill the position of UIHB Navigator. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in empowering Indigenous women and their families, promoting employment and education, and fostering community integration and social inclusion.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist Indigenous women and their families in navigating systems to access supports and services
  • Provide guidance and support in securing and maintaining safe and stable housing
  • Facilitate cultural immersion and connection for Indigenous women and their families
  • Collaborate with community organizations and services to provide comprehensive support
  • Develop and maintain relationships with community members and stakeholders
Requirements
  • Two-year post-secondary education in Social Service Work and/or Indigenous Studies
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in a community organization and/or working with Indigenous populations
  • Case management experience and knowledge of Indigenous culture and history
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a diverse environment
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
  • Clear Criminal Reference Check (CPIC) with Vulnerable Sector Search (VSS)
