About the Role

The Hamilton Regional Indian Centre is seeking a skilled and compassionate UIHB Navigator to join our team. As a UIHB Navigator, you will play a vital role in empowering Indigenous women and their families by providing guidance and support in accessing essential services and resources.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist clients in navigating complex systems to access necessary supports and services
  • Provide case management and advocacy services to ensure clients receive the help they need
  • Collaborate with community organizations and service providers to ensure seamless support for clients
  • Develop and maintain relationships with community partners to enhance service delivery
  • Conduct home visits and community outreach to engage with clients and provide support
  • Document client interactions and progress in a timely and accurate manner
Requirements
  • Two-year post-secondary education in Social Service Work and/or Indigenous Studies or equivalent
  • Minimum two years' experience working in a community organization or with Indigenous populations
  • Case management experience and strong knowledge of Indigenous culture and history
  • Knowledge of Indigenous and non-Indigenous community supports and services
  • Non-Violent Crisis Intervention training and First Aid/CPR certification
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a diverse environment
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
  • Clear Criminal Reference Check (CPIC) with Vulnerable Sector Search (VSS)
