Location: This position is based in Cambridge, with travel to various sites across Southern Ontario.

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Compensation: Competitive base salary plus travel allowance.

Role Overview: Reporting directly to the Director of HR, the Health and Safety Coordinator is tasked with evaluating and auditing health and safety programs while providing training to employees across our facilities. Regular travel is an essential part of this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Traveling to multiple locations as required.
  • Developing and maintaining the Joint Health and Safety Committee (JHSC).
  • Conducting JHSC and First Aid training sessions.
  • Maintaining monthly logs for facilities, first aid, and fire extinguishers across all sites.
  • Ensuring compliance with WSIB regulations, including filings, return-to-work processes, and modified duties.
  • Managing communication with stakeholders regarding health and safety and WSIB issues.
  • Responding to emergencies and facilitating incident investigations, including necessary documentation.
  • Implementing company-wide COVID-19 policies and procedures.
  • Maintaining OH&S boards at all locations.
  • Documenting quarterly meeting minutes.
  • Creating and maintaining health and safety documentation binders.
  • Ordering first aid supplies and managing inventory.
  • Updating health and safety policies and procedures annually.
  • Overseeing fire safety systems and plans.
  • Scheduling equipment maintenance.
  • Compiling daily appointment and cleaning logs.
  • Performing additional responsibilities as needed.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • University degree, college diploma, or certifications in Occupational Health & Safety or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience with health and safety legislation and regulations.
  • Certification as a JHSC member is an asset.
  • Valid G Driver's License with a clean driving record.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong professionalism and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Positive and proactive attitude.
  • Willingness to travel to various locations.
  • CPR training and WSIB experience are considered assets.
