About the Role:
The Director of Health and Safety Compliance will be responsible for ensuring that Parrish and Heimbecker meets all health, safety, and environmental regulations. This role involves updating and implementing policies, promoting a positive safety culture, and maintaining compliance with federal and provincial standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and Implement Safety Programs: Create and manage health and safety programs to ensure compliance and promote a safety-first culture.
- Conduct Audits: Oversee annual audits of safety programs to check for compliance and effectiveness.
- Training Management: Oversee safety training, including finding resources, scheduling, and tracking progress.
- Regulatory Reporting: Handle all regulatory and environmental compliance reporting and manage necessary certifications.
- WSIB Management: Working with our consultants manage WSIB accounts, including claims and return-to-work cases.
- Support Policies: Lead and support the Social Accountability and Environmental Sustainability policies and committee.
- Budgeting: Develop, make capital recommendations and manage Health and Safety budget for our group.
Requirements:
- University degree or College diploma in a relevant field or equivalent employment experience
- Minimum five years' experience in a Health & Safety and Environmental Compliance
- In-depth understanding of the food manufacturing industry
- Must be able to work independently and in a team environment
- Canadian Registered Safety Professional CRSP, Certified Health and Safety consultant CHSC designations would be an asset
