Location: This position is based in Cambridge, with travel to various sites across Southern Ontario.

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

Compensation: Competitive base salary plus travel reimbursement.

Reporting Structure: This role reports directly to the Director of Human Resources. The Health and Safety Coordinator is tasked with evaluating and auditing health and safety programs while providing training to employees across our multiple facilities. Regular travel is a requirement of this position.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Traveling to various company locations.
  • Developing and maintaining the Joint Health and Safety Committee (JHSC).
  • Conducting JHSC and First Aid training sessions.
  • Maintaining monthly logs for facilities, first aid, and fire extinguishers across all sites.
  • Ensuring compliance with WSIB regulations, including filings, return-to-work processes, and modified duties.
  • Managing communications with stakeholders regarding health and safety and WSIB issues.
  • Responding to emergencies and leading incident/accident investigations, including necessary documentation.
  • Implementing company-wide COVID-19 policies and procedures.
  • Maintaining OH&S boards at all locations.
  • Documenting quarterly meeting minutes.
  • Creating and maintaining health and safety documentation binders.
  • Ordering first aid supplies and managing inventory.
  • Updating health and safety policies and procedures annually.
  • Overseeing fire system maintenance and planning.
  • Scheduling equipment maintenance.
  • Compiling daily appointment and cleaning logs.
  • Performing additional duties as required.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • A degree or diploma in Occupational Health & Safety or equivalent experience.
  • Several years of experience with health and safety legislation and regulations.
  • Certification as a JHSC member is advantageous.
  • A valid G Driver's License with a clean driving record.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated professionalism and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Capability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • A positive and proactive attitude.
  • Willingness to travel to various locations.
  • CPR training and WSIB experience are considered assets.
