About the Role
The Director of Health and Safety Compliance will be responsible for ensuring that our company meets all health, safety, and environmental regulations. This will involve developing and implementing policies, promoting a positive safety culture, and maintaining compliance with federal and provincial standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and manage health and safety programs to ensure compliance and promote a safety-first culture.
- Conduct annual audits of safety programs to check for compliance and effectiveness.
- Oversee safety training, including finding resources, scheduling, and tracking progress.
- Handle all regulatory and environmental compliance reporting and manage necessary certifications.
- Manage WSIB accounts, including claims and return-to-work cases.
- Lead and support the Social Accountability and Environmental Sustainability policies and committee.
- Develop, manage, and recommend the Health and Safety budget for our group.
Requirements
- University degree or College diploma in a relevant field or equivalent employment experience.
- Minimum five years' experience in Health & Safety and Environmental Compliance.
- In-depth understanding of the food manufacturing industry.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) designation.
- Certified Health and Safety Consultant (CHSC) designation would be an asset.
