About the Role

The Association des transports du Canada is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Project Manager to lead the delivery of large-scale capital projects. As a key member of the Major Projects team, you will be responsible for providing strategic direction and technical expertise to ensure the successful completion of high-priority projects.


Key Responsibilities

As a Senior Project Manager, you will:

  • Provide leadership and technical direction to project teams, ensuring the successful delivery of capital projects.
  • Develop and implement project management plans, including project schedules, budgets, and resource allocation.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, including project sponsors, team members, and external partners, to ensure project goals and objectives are met.
  • Manage project risks, issues, and changes, ensuring minimal impact on project timelines and budgets.
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with diverse stakeholders, including project team members, sponsors, and external partners.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and organizational policies.
  • Provide regular project status updates to stakeholders, including project sponsors and senior management.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related field.
  • Registration as a Professional Engineer with the Engineers Geoscientists of Manitoba (EGM).
  • Extensive experience in project management, including design and construction, contract management, and managing interdisciplinary teams.
  • Excellent consultation, negotiation, and conflict management skills.
  • Strong planning, research, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to analyze policies and programs to determine feasibility, cost-effectiveness, and consistency with established departmental policy.
  • Knowledge of related Highway Traffic Act, Highway Protection Act, Highways and Transportation Act, and the Workplace Health & Safety Act.
  • Knowledge of current construction principles and methodology, construction specifications, and guidelines.
  • Knowledge of specialized technical functions such as environmental assessment, materials, and traffic engineering.
  • Knowledge of Occupational, Safety, Health & Risk Management policies and procedures.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Teams and Office Suite.

Preferred Qualifications

It would be an asset if you have:

  • Proficiency with project management software.
