We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Project Manager to join our team at Association des transports du Canada. As a key member of our Major Projects Branch, you will be responsible for leading the delivery of high-priority, large-scale capital projects.
Key Responsibilities- Provide leadership and technical direction to project teams, ensuring successful and timely project delivery.
- Manage project scope, schedule, and budget, ensuring alignment with departmental objectives.
- Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, including project staff, contractors, and regulatory bodies.
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with diverse work groups and contacts.
- Ensure compliance with relevant policies, procedures, and regulations, including the Highway Traffic Act, Highway Protection Act, and Workplace Health & Safety Act.
- Stay up-to-date with current construction principles and methodology, construction specifications, and guidelines.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to identify and integrate relevant information to determine appropriate course of action/outcomes.
- Develop and implement project management plans, including risk management, quality assurance, and communication strategies.
- Monitor and report on project progress, identifying and mitigating potential risks and issues.
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or equivalent, and registration as a Professional Engineer with the Engineers Geoscientists of Manitoba (EGM).
- Extensive experience in project management, including design and construction, contract management, and managing interdisciplinary teams.
- Excellent consultation, negotiation, and conflict management skills to deal effectively with complex and sensitive issues.
- Strong planning, research, and analytical skills to identify and integrate relevant information to determine appropriate course of action/outcomes.
- Ability to analyze policies and programs to determine feasibility, cost-effectiveness, consistency with established departmental policy, and recommend alternatives in finished form.
- Knowledge of specialized technical functions, such as environmental assessment, materials, and traffic engineering.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Teams and Office Suite.
- Proficiency with project management software.
