Your Role
As a Project Scheduler within our Federal Business Unit, you will play a crucial role in managing major capital building and infrastructure initiatives across various sectors. This position offers the chance to engage with a diverse portfolio for our Eastern Ontario team, allowing you to showcase your scheduling expertise and technical skills to enhance project performance through various project control tools tailored to meet our clients' requirements.
Responsibilities
- Manage multiple projects of varying sizes and complexities related to educational, municipal, or institutional buildings and essential infrastructure as a Scheduler or Planner.
- Develop comprehensive master schedules for large-scale, intricate projects in collaboration with diverse stakeholders and multidisciplinary project teams.
- Provide clients with critical decision-making information, enhancing their visibility into project outcomes and increasing the likelihood of success.
- Demonstrate your ability to advocate for clients' interests in the development, monitoring, and control of project schedules.
- Utilize Project Management Information Systems effectively, applying Earned Value Analysis methodologies and various project control tools to meet clients' articulated and unarticulated needs.
- Transform project performance data into insightful progress reports and dashboards, including thorough analyses of schedule performance, KPIs, forecasts, risks, and recommended actions.
- Facilitate effective communication and coordination among multiple stakeholders, managing change and resolving issues to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
Qualifications
- A degree or diploma in engineering, architecture, construction management, or quantity surveying (or an equivalent combination of education and practical experience).
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in project controls management, with a focus on project and program planning/scheduling.
- Proven track record in monitoring and enhancing project schedule performance.
- Strong understanding of various construction methodologies, project management frameworks, financial management, and estimating techniques.
- Proficiency in utilizing Project Management Information Systems/Project Controls Software (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project, Unifier, etc.).
- Comprehensive knowledge and practical skills in developing and managing Work Breakdown Structures, Cost Breakdown Structures, schedule and cost baselines, earned value analysis, risk management, and change management processes.
- Professional certifications such as PMP, PMI-SP, CET, Registered Architect, or similar industry-recognized designations are advantageous.
- A positive mindset, professional curiosity, and the ability to collaborate effectively with local and regional teams.
- Strong leadership and organizational capabilities with a proven ability to influence others and resolve client, project, and technical challenges.
- Reliability and security clearance with the Federal Government are preferred.
