About This Opportunity

Black & McDonald's Southern Ontario Business Development team is growing. We're seeking a collaborative professional to contribute to our hard-working, innovative team. As a Proposal Coordinator, you'll play a key role in leading the proposal production process and working with multiple stakeholders to coordinate and prepare proposal responses.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the proposal production process, working closely with the Proposal Manager to ensure timely and effective proposal submissions.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to review and interpret RFP and RFQ documents, determining requirements for successful proposal submission.
  • Write, proofread, edit, and format proposal content, adapting existing content and boilerplates as needed to ensure a cohesive proposal.
  • Work with the Marketing and Communications team to create graphics and visuals for proposal submissions.
  • Develop and maintain a library of standard marketing materials, including project profiles and resumes.
  • Support ad-hoc business development initiatives, preparing marketing materials for client presentations as needed.
  • Monitor and identify opportunities on public portals, notifying Division Managers of potential opportunities.
  • Assist with document control and management to support various pursuits.

Education Requirements

  • Degree or Diploma from an accredited post-secondary institution

Work Experience Requirements

  • 1-2 years of marketing/business development/proposal or related experience, preferably in the Engineering or Construction industry
  • Writing, Editing, and Proof-reading skills with strong attention to detail
  • Excellent organization and time management skills with ability to work on multiple initiatives and adhere to submission deadlines
  • Superior communication skills and ability to work as part of a team

Skills, Abilities, and Other Requirements

  • Proposal coordination in a construction setting is an asset
  • Proficient user of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio) and PDF editing software
