Job Overview

As a Radiology Technologist II, you will report to the Manager of Diagnostic Imaging and play a vital role in executing radiological procedures essential for medical diagnosis within the operating room and X-ray department.

Key Responsibilities

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting radiological examinations for diagnostic purposes.
  • Assessing requisitions to determine appropriate procedures, views, and equipment.
  • Gathering relevant patient information and ensuring they are well-informed and prepared for examinations.
  • Collaborating with Radiologists and Surgeons during procedures.
  • Employing techniques that ensure high-quality imaging while minimizing radiation exposure.
  • Practicing sterile techniques when necessary.
  • Performing clerical tasks related to patient care.
Work Schedule

75 hours biweekly; variable shifts including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications
  • Graduation from an accredited Radiological Technology program.
  • Current registration with the Nova Scotia College of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Professionals (NSCMIRTP).
  • Completion of a Basic Life Support (BLS) program within the last year.
  • Experience in pediatric imaging is advantageous.
  • Ability to make independent technical decisions and work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team.
  • Strong decision-making, interpretation, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Proficiency in additional languages is a plus; French is preferred.
