Role Summary:

Milestones Bar and Grill Heartland is on the lookout for a skilled Sous Chef to enhance our vibrant culinary team. The selected candidate will support the Head Chef in managing kitchen operations, ensuring exceptional food quality, and upholding a tidy and efficient kitchen atmosphere.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the kitchen staff and coordinate orders as they appear on the kitchen display system.
  • Ensure precise plating of dishes during busy service periods.
  • Work closely with the Head Chef to creatively develop and implement menu offerings.
  • Guide kitchen personnel in food preparation, cooking methods, and presentation standards.
  • Adhere to food safety protocols and regulations.
  • Assist with inventory oversight and procurement of kitchen supplies as necessary.
  • Maintain a clean and organized cooking environment.
  • Train new kitchen team members on effective cooking practices and kitchen operations.
  • Handle all tasks related to food storage and kitchen maintenance, including cleaning equipment and work areas.
  • Exhibit meticulous attention to detail in all job functions.
  • Demonstrate the ability to manage a physically demanding workload.
  • Be prepared to work during late nights and early mornings.
Required Skills:
  • Demonstrated experience as a kitchen Supervisor or Lead Cook.
  • Strong expertise in grilling and food presentation.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of food preparation techniques.
  • Capability to oversee kitchen staff and provide mentorship.
  • Familiarity with food handling practices and safety regulations.
  • Leadership attributes with excellent communication and organizational skills.
Job Type:

Full-time

Compensation:

$21.00-$25.00 per hour
