About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Dental Assistant to join our team at Heritage Family Dental Centre. As a Dental Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our dental team in delivering high-quality services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Pre-Procedure Preparation
    • Prepare patients for dental examinations by explaining procedures, answering questions, and ensuring they are comfortable and relaxed.
    • Assist dentists and hygienists with preparing patients for treatment, including setting up equipment and instruments.
  • Instrumentation and Sterilization
    • Prepare and sterilize dental instruments and equipment according to established protocols.
    • Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to infection control standards.
  • Administrative Support
    • Assist with reception and clerical duties, including scheduling appointments and managing patient records.
    • Invoice patients for dental services and maintain accurate financial records.
  • Education and Training
    • Provide patients with education on oral hygiene and dental health, promoting preventive care and good oral habits.
    • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay up-to-date on the latest techniques and technologies.
  • Team Collaboration
    • Work collaboratively with dentists, hygienists, and other support staff to ensure seamless patient care and efficient workflow.
    • Communicate effectively with patients, colleagues, and management to resolve issues and address concerns.
Requirements
  • Education
    • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience
    • 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in a dental setting.
  • Skills
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
    • Basic computer skills and familiarity with dental software.
