Job Overview

The Human Resources Advisor functions within a cooperative environment and is accountable for assisting with a diverse range of human resources initiatives and general office operations. This role supports the human resources director and senior advisor as needed and addresses general inquiries regarding human resources programs, policies, and procedures, redirecting as necessary. The position routinely manages highly sensitive and confidential information.

Key Responsibilities

Data Management

  • Input data into the human resources management information systems.
  • Maintain human resources spreadsheets and statistical data.
  • Prepare various forms of correspondence or reports.
  • Ensure organizational charts are consistently updated and accurate.
  • Organize filing systems by scanning, indexing, and establishing both paper and digital files for new personnel.

Recruitment and Retention

  • Advertise job openings and ensure that communication materials are consistently updated.
  • Pre-screen candidates.
  • Confirm interview schedules.
  • Coordinate accommodations, pre-employment screenings, etc.
  • Conduct reference verifications.
  • Facilitate and/or conduct exit interviews.
  • Ensure that probation evaluation forms are completed and confirmation letters are issued to employees.

Benefits Management

  • Work directly with the human resources administrator to manage group benefits and workers' compensation processes.
  • Assist in the administration of the employee relations program and benefits.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of group benefits processes and other offerings provided by the organization.

Human Resources Administration

  • Respond to or redirect employee inquiries regarding policies, procedures, or collective agreement provisions as appropriate.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of various human resources reports and surveys.
  • Assist employees with immigration processes, specifically the Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP) and Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) applications.
  • Provide backup support to the human resources administrator for the following:
    • Proximity cards.
    • Restricted Area Identity Card (RAIC) applications.
    • Airside Vehicle Operator's Permit (AVOP) applications.
    • New Hire Enrollment form.

General Duties

  • Develop and maintain an understanding of the company's vision, mission, and values.
  • Engage in special projects as required.
  • Continuously enhance job knowledge through training and educational opportunities.
  • Safeguard company values by maintaining confidentiality.
  • Participate in organizational development and professional growth opportunities as directed.
  • Ensure adherence to quality assurance and safety programs to foster an incident-free culture.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess an undergraduate degree or diploma in human resources, along with two to three years of experience in a group benefits or human resources setting. Experience in the aviation sector is advantageous. A combination of education and experience may be considered.
