Role Overview

The Human Resources Advisor plays a pivotal role in a collaborative setting, tasked with supporting a diverse range of human resources functions and administrative duties. This position involves assisting the HR Director and Senior Advisor, addressing inquiries related to HR programs, policies, and procedures, while managing sensitive and confidential information with discretion.

Key Responsibilities

Data Management

  • Input data into the human resources management systems.
  • Maintain and update HR spreadsheets and statistics.
  • Draft various reports and correspondence.
  • Ensure that organizational charts are accurate and up-to-date.
  • Organize filing systems by digitizing and indexing documents for new hires.

Recruitment and Retention

  • Advertise job openings and keep communication materials current.
  • Screen applicants and coordinate interview schedules.
  • Manage logistics for pre-employment screenings and accommodations.
  • Conduct reference checks and facilitate exit interviews.
  • Ensure completion of probation evaluations and issue confirmation letters to employees.

Benefits Administration

  • Work closely with the HR Administrator to manage group benefits and workers' compensation processes.
  • Assist in the administration of employee relations programs and benefits.
  • Develop expertise in group benefits processes and other company-provided benefits.

Human Resources Administration

  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding policies and collective agreements.
  • Contribute to the creation and maintenance of various HR reports and surveys.
  • Support employees with immigration processes, particularly related to the Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program and federal applications.
  • Provide backup support for the HR Administrator in various applications and enrollment processes.

General Responsibilities

  • Foster a deep understanding of the company's vision, mission, and values.
  • Engage in special projects as needed.
  • Enhance job knowledge through ongoing training and educational opportunities.
  • Safeguard company values by maintaining confidentiality.
  • Participate in organizational development and professional growth initiatives.
  • Ensure adherence to quality assurance and safety protocols to promote a culture free from incidents and injuries.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess an undergraduate degree or diploma in human resources, along with two to three years of experience in a benefits or HR environment. Experience in the aviation industry is considered an asset. A combination of education and relevant experience may also be acceptable.
