The Child Youth and Emerging Adult Program (CYEAP) is seeking a dedicated Social Worker to provide vital support to young individuals experiencing their first episode of psychosis and their families within our inpatient setting.

As an integral member of our interprofessional team, you will play a crucial role in delivering comprehensive social work services. Your responsibilities will encompass:

  • Conducting thorough assessments, developing individualized care plans, implementing interventions, and evaluating outcomes for young people experiencing psychosis and their families.
  • Actively engaging patients and families in the discharge planning process, ensuring a smooth transition to community-based support systems.
  • Providing leadership in developing family-centered services, conducting assessments, offering education, counseling, and ongoing support to families navigating this challenging journey.
  • Supervising Masters of Social Work students, contributing to the advancement of best practices within the social work field, and sharing your expertise with other professionals.

The ideal candidate possesses a strong understanding of crisis intervention principles, experience in mental health/addiction settings, knowledge of recovery models, and an appreciation for concurrent disorders and their impact on this population. You will also demonstrate:

  • A commitment to providing culturally sensitive care to individuals from diverse backgrounds.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration with stakeholders within and outside of our organization.
  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving abilities to effectively manage clinical situations requiring the management of disturbed behavior.
