Restaurant Manager Opportunity at Vail Resorts

We are seeking a skilled Restaurant Manager to lead our Whistler Après Bar team and deliver exceptional dining experiences for our guests. As a Restaurant Manager at Vail Resorts, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Après Bar, ensuring seamless service, and driving sales growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operational Excellence: Manage dining operations, maintain high standards of food quality, cleanliness, and safety, and ensure compliance with laws and regulations.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise and develop a team of 50+ employees, providing guidance, coaching, and feedback to ensure excellent service delivery.
  • Marketing and Sales: Assist in developing marketing plans to promote the Après Bar, drive sales growth, and increase revenue.
  • Administrative Duties: Manage administrative tasks, including hiring, cash management, reservations, budgeting, purchasing, inventory, and records management.
  • Quality Control: Conduct regular inspections to maintain facility standards and ensure a positive guest experience.
  • Performance Management: Review staff performance, provide feedback, and take corrective action when necessary.
  • Leadership and Collaboration: Participate in leadership forums, provide feedback, and contribute to continuous improvement opportunities.

Requirements:

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent; Bachelor's or Culinary degree preferred.
  • Certifications: Serving it Right certification.
  • Experience: 2-5 years of high-volume Bar/Restaurant Managerial experience; 3-5 years of supervising 50+ employees year-round.
  • Skills: Ability to stand and walk continuously, lift and/or carry up to 50lbs; ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, holidays, and weekends; fluency in English; bilingual preferred; ability to ski or snowboard strongly preferred.
