Lead Business Solutions Analyst
Job Type: Contract (4 months to start)
Primary Location: Remote

We currently have an opportunity for a Lead Business Solutions Analyst, supporting a partner in the Public sector.

Essential Qualifications
  • Proven experience in directing technical needs assessments for multi-stakeholder, geospatial solution discovery initiatives.
  • Demonstrated ability to foster collaboration and develop effective strategies for requirement gathering.

  • Strong proficiency in business analysis.
Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver a comprehensive range of Information and Information Technology (I&IT) business analysis services tailored to clients with diverse operational and technological requirements.
  • Engage with business stakeholders and subject matter experts to thoroughly understand their needs through effective gathering, documentation, and analysis of business requirements.
  • Prepare and provide guidance on business analysis policies, processes, best practices, and standards to ensure a cohesive and consistent business analysis practice within the organization.
General Skills
  • Lead and execute business analysis to evaluate client business challenges and opportunities, documenting requirements to facilitate the identification of I&IT solutions.
  • Utilize re-engineering concepts to drive business enhancements through alternative and cost-effective service delivery methods.
  • Conduct business analysis at various levels of detail appropriate to the project and its phases, aligning with established project management methodologies and standards.
  • Develop robust processes for requirements gathering, including but not limited to Joint Application Development (JAD) sessions, interviews, and mockups.
  • Perform business modeling, use case modeling, conceptual and logical data modeling, process and data flow modeling, and define business rules and non-functional requirements for assigned projects.
  • Monitor project progress, resolve issues, and provide regular updates to I&IT management and stakeholders.
  • Create performance measures and traceability matrices for evaluating business analysis and conduct follow-ups.
  • Experience in developing strategies, preparing business cases, and conducting cost-benefit analyses.
  • Proficient in conducting requirements gathering, developing documentation, including presentations and briefing notes, and engaging stakeholders effectively.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities; strong verbal and written communication skills; interpersonal and negotiation skills.
  • A collaborative team player with a proven track record of meeting deadlines.
Desirable Skills
  • Experience leading discovery initiatives on projects involving Esri-based geospatial solutions.
  • Experience leading discovery initiatives on projects involving integrated networking technologies.
  • Knowledge of Information Management principles, concepts, policies, and practices.
  • Ability to translate business and data requirements into specifications for designing appropriate technology solutions.
  • Familiarity with a variety of methods, tools, and techniques for business analysis.
  • Experience in structured, object-oriented, and agile methodologies for user requirement assessments.
  • Experience in developing performance measures for business analysis evaluation and follow-ups.
  • Understanding of Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) and related regulations.
Technical Experience
  • Experience leading geospatial (Esri) based projects.
  • Experience in IT solution discovery.
  • Proficient in business analysis processes, tools, methodologies, and modeling techniques.
  • Experience in assessing the impacts of new solutions or enhancements on existing services and infrastructure.
  • Experience with the product management life cycle and leading multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Experience with software development life cycles, design, integration, and quality assurance.
  • Knowledge of industry trends in user experience design and integrated systems.
