Lead Business Solutions Analyst
Job Type: Contract
Primary Location: Remote

We are currently seeking a Lead Business Solutions Analyst, who will be instrumental in supporting our initiatives in the Public sector.

Essential Qualifications
  • Proven experience in conducting technical needs assessments for collaborative, geospatial solution discovery projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to engage stakeholders and devise effective strategies for requirement gathering.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Strong expertise in business analysis.
Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver a comprehensive suite of I&IT business analysis services tailored to clients with varied business and technological requirements.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders and subject matter experts to thoroughly understand their needs through effective documentation and analysis.
  • Develop and recommend business analysis policies, processes, best practices, and standards to ensure a consistent approach within the organization.
General Skills
  • Lead and execute business analysis to evaluate client challenges and opportunities, documenting requirements to facilitate I&IT solution development.
  • Utilize re-engineering principles to enhance business operations through innovative and cost-effective service delivery methods.
  • Conduct business analysis at various levels of detail, aligning with established project management methodologies and standards.
  • Formulate strategies, prepare business cases, conduct cost-benefit analyses, and perform feasibility studies for I&IT initiatives.
  • Establish effective processes for requirements gathering, including JAD sessions, interviews, and mockups.
  • Engage in business modeling, use case modeling, and process/data flow modeling for assigned projects.
  • Monitor project progress, address issues, and provide regular updates to I&IT management and stakeholders.
  • Develop performance metrics and traceability matrices for evaluating business analysis efforts and follow up as necessary.
  • Experience in preparing documentation, including presentations and briefing notes, and engaging stakeholders effectively.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities; excellent verbal and written communication skills; and strong interpersonal skills.
  • A collaborative team member with a proven track record of meeting deadlines.
Desirable Skills
  • Experience leading discovery projects involving Esri-based geospatial solutions and related technologies.
  • Familiarity with integrated networking technologies and cloud-based solutions.
  • Understanding of Information Management principles and practices.
  • Ability to translate business and data requirements into actionable specifications for technology solutions.
  • Experience with various business analysis methods and tools.
  • Knowledge of structured, object-oriented, and agile methodologies for user requirement assessments.
  • Experience in developing performance measures for business analysis evaluation.
  • Awareness of Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) and related standards.
Technical Expertise
  • Experience leading geospatial projects utilizing Esri technologies.
  • Experience in IT solution discovery and evaluation of on-premises versus cloud-based solutions.
  • Proficient in business analysis processes, tools, and methodologies for conducting option analyses and process re-engineering.
  • Ability to assess the impact of new solutions on existing services and infrastructure.
  • Experience with the product management lifecycle and leading cross-functional teams.
  • Familiarity with software development life cycles and principles of user interface design.
  • Knowledge of industry trends in user experience design and integrated systems.
