Position Overview:

The Senior Analyst will be a key contributor within the Budgets & Forecast team, reporting directly to the Senior Manager. This role is pivotal in managing the financial reporting processes for monthly and quarterly forecasts, the annual budget, and the corporate performance scorecard. Additionally, the Senior Analyst will oversee the administration of forecasting applications, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as a representative for Budgets & Forecast in cross-departmental project teams to facilitate the annual budgeting process.
  • Consolidate and analyze the annual budget for executive and Board presentations, including comparative analysis against previous forecasts.
  • Develop the monthly forecast and quarterly materials for the Board using the Forecast Consolidation Model, providing detailed financial insights to support decision-making.
  • Prepare updates for the corporate performance scorecard for the executive team on a monthly basis.
  • Manage BPC and Spotfire tools, including access control, data management, and troubleshooting.
  • Ensure critical financial and operational information is presented effectively to enable timely decision-making.
  • Interpret and enhance accounting processes to align with financial reporting requirements.
  • Support corporate initiatives involving acquisitions, divestments, or other strategic assessments related to budgeting and forecasting.
  • Conduct ad hoc analyses to support strategic planning sessions, budgeting processes, and long-term business planning.

Candidate Profile:

  • Legally authorized to work in Canada.
  • University degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline, with a CPA or CFA designation preferred.
  • Over 8 years of experience in business analysis, financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills across all organizational levels.
  • Meticulous attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy.
  • Proactive individual with a positive mindset and the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
  • Ability to engage and influence cross-functional teams, including senior management, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Experience with SAP, BPC, Spotfire, and PlanningSpace is advantageous.
  • Background in the oil and gas sector is a plus.
