Position Title: Community Services Coordinator (Transportation and Meals on Wheels Programs)

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and uphold procedures and standards for Transportation and Meals on Wheels services, including driver requirements.
  • Evaluate the eligibility of clients for Transportation and Meals on Wheels services: assess needs, maintain confidential records, and review subsidy applications.
  • Direct non-eligible individuals to alternative community services/resources and refer clients to additional health or social services as necessary.
  • Coordinate requests for Transportation and Meals on Wheels programs: optimize routing and scheduling for efficient vehicle and volunteer utilization, create daily/weekly/monthly schedules aligning drivers and vehicles with client routes, and communicate with drivers and clients regarding details or changes.
  • Address all client inquiries promptly and professionally.
  • Conduct inspections of vehicles, ensuring cleanliness and emergency equipment functionality, and oversee maintenance and repairs with the Fleet Manager's assistance.
  • Ensure accurate billing for clients and follow up on overdue accounts.
  • Generate statistical reports and correspondence as required by various funders for the Senior Manager.
  • Contribute to annual budget planning and monitor program expenditures.
  • Assist in crafting service plans and support the development of program presentations and proposals to secure funding from diverse external sources.
  • Represent the organization at external meetings to foster community partnerships and promote programs.
  • Ensure compliance with service standards and procedures through supervision and adherence to Quality Management (QM) and Risk Management policies.
  • Create an environment that respects and dignifies volunteers, staff, and clients.
  • Recruit, train, orient, supervise, and evaluate program volunteers.
  • Support personnel in resolving client-related issues.
Qualifications:
  • Completion of a college diploma.
  • One to three years of relevant work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience, including Volunteer Resource Management.
  • Proficient in client and vehicle database management, along with basic budgeting and financial oversight.
  • Exceptional customer service, organizational, time management, and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with national, service-oriented, non-profit organizations is advantageous.
  • Background in Volunteer Management and training is beneficial.
  • Strong leadership and supervisory capabilities are preferred.
  • Proficient in MS Office software applications.
  • Familiarity with SIMS is a plus.
Work Environment:
  • Work primarily conducted in an office setting. The environment is clean and comfortable.
  • A clear 3-year Driver's Abstract is required.
  • Eligibility to work in Canada is necessary. Candidates should verify their visa status if not a citizen or permanent resident.
  • Successful candidates will undergo a pre-employment screening process, including a satisfactory Enhanced Police Information Check (E-PIC).
