The Canadian Red Cross (CRC) is a renowned non-profit organization dedicated to assisting individuals and communities in Canada and globally during times of crisis, while also fostering resilience. Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and uphold procedures and standards for Transportation and Meals on Wheels services, ensuring compliance with driver requirements.
- Evaluate the eligibility of clients for Transportation and Meals on Wheels services, maintaining confidential records and assessing subsidy applications.
- Direct ineligible individuals to alternative community resources and refer clients to additional health or social services as necessary.
- Organize requests for Transportation and Meals on Wheels programs, optimizing routing and scheduling for maximum vehicle and volunteer utilization, while coordinating daily, weekly, and monthly schedules.
- Address all client inquiries promptly and professionally.
- Conduct inspections of RC vehicles, ensuring cleanliness and proper emergency equipment, while overseeing fleet maintenance and repairs in collaboration with the Fleet Manager.
- Ensure accurate billing for clients and follow up on outstanding accounts.
- Generate statistical reports and correspondence as required by various funding bodies and provide them to the Senior Manager.
- Contribute to the annual budget preparation and monitor program expenditures.
- Assist in the development of service plans and support the creation of program presentations and proposals to secure funding from diverse external sources.
- Represent the organization at external meetings to foster community partnerships and promote programs.
- Ensure adherence to service standards and procedures through supervision and Quality Management (QM) and Risk Management practices.
- Create an environment that respects and dignifies volunteers, staff, and clients.
- Recruit, train, orient, supervise, and evaluate program volunteers.
- Support personnel in resolving client-related issues.
Qualifications:
- Completion of a college diploma.
- One to three years of relevant work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience, including Volunteer Resource Management.
- Proficient in client and vehicle database management, as well as basic budgeting and financial oversight.
- Strong customer service, organizational, time management, and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with national, service-oriented non-profit organizations is advantageous.
- Background in Volunteer Management and training is a plus.
- Demonstrated leadership and supervisory capabilities are beneficial.
- Proficient in MS Office software applications.
- Familiarity with SIMS is a plus.
Working Conditions:
- The position is primarily based in an office environment.
- A clear 3-year Driver's Abstract is required.
- Candidates must be eligible to work in Canada.
- Successful candidates will undergo a pre-employment screening process, including a satisfactory Enhanced Police Information Check (E-PIC).
