Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and uphold service protocols for Transportation and Meals on Wheels, ensuring compliance with standards and driver qualifications.
  • Evaluate the eligibility of clients for Transportation and Meals on Wheels services, maintaining confidential records and reviewing subsidy applications.
  • Direct ineligible individuals to alternative community resources and refer clients to additional health or social services as necessary.
  • Organize requests for Transportation and Meals on Wheels programs, optimizing routing and scheduling for efficient vehicle and volunteer use, while producing schedules that align drivers with client routes.
  • Address all client inquiries promptly and professionally.
  • Conduct inspections of Red Cross vehicles, ensuring cleanliness and functionality, and oversee maintenance and repairs in collaboration with the Fleet Manager.
  • Ensure accurate billing for clients and follow up on overdue accounts.
  • Generate statistical reports and other documentation as required by various funding bodies, providing them to the Senior Manager.
  • Contribute to the annual budget preparation and monitor program expenditures.
  • Assist in crafting service plans and support the creation of program presentations and proposals to secure funding from diverse external sources.
  • Represent the organization at external meetings to foster community partnerships and promote programs.
  • Ensure adherence to service standards and procedures through supervision and Quality Management (QM) and Risk Management practices.
  • Foster a respectful, warm, and dignified environment for volunteers, staff, and clients.
  • Recruit, train, orient, supervise, and evaluate program volunteers.
  • Support staff in resolving client-related issues.

Qualifications:

  • Completion of a college diploma.
  • One to three years of relevant work experience or a combination of education and experience, including Volunteer Resource Management.
  • Proficient in client and vehicle database management, along with basic budgeting and financial oversight.
  • Strong customer service, organizational, time management, and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with national, service-oriented non-profit organizations is advantageous.
  • Background in Volunteer Management and training is beneficial.
  • Demonstrated leadership and supervisory capabilities are preferred.
  • Proficient in MS Office software applications.
  • Familiarity with SIMS is a plus.

Working Conditions:

  • The role is primarily office-based.
  • A clear 3-year Driver's Abstract is required.
  • Candidates must be eligible to work in Canada.
  • Successful candidates will undergo a pre-employment screening process, including an Enhanced Police Information Check (E-PIC).
