The Department Supervisor oversees all departmental operations in alignment with store goals and policies to maximize sales while fulfilling customer requirements and fostering a supportive work environment for staff.
Multiple roles are available across various departments within the food retail industry, including bakery, grocery, seafood, dairy, delicatessen, meat, ready-to-eat, and produce. This opportunity is with a vibrant Quebec-based organization that provides promising career growth prospects and is a leader in the food and pharmacy sectors across Quebec and Ontario.
Main Responsibilities:
- Collaborates with the Store Manager to establish sales objectives and ensure adherence to budgetary goals.
- Responsible for placing departmental orders and managing purchases. Verifies invoices against delivery notes and confirms receipt of goods.
- Ensures the store is adequately stocked and prepared for customer visits, including merchandise availability, product labeling, and the rotation of perishable items.
- Guarantees that product labeling meets store standards, aligns with the head office price list, and corresponds with scanner cash register prices, while ensuring price tags are consistent with promotional materials.
- Ensures adherence to planogram marketing strategies.
- Responsible for creating employee work schedules.
- Ensures compliance with company policies (such as reception and safety) and occupational health and safety regulations.
- Participates in the onboarding, training, and evaluation of employees.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Completion of Secondary School (Sec 5 or equivalent)
- A minimum of 3 years' experience in the food sector
