The Department Supervisor oversees all operations within their assigned department, ensuring alignment with store goals and policies to maximize sales while meeting customer expectations and fostering a positive work environment for employees.
Multiple roles are available across various departments in the food retail industry, including bakery, grocery, seafood, dairy, delicatessen, meat, ready-to-eat meals, and produce. Main Responsibilities:
- Collaborates with the Store Manager to establish sales objectives and guarantees that budgetary goals are achieved.
- Responsible for placing departmental orders and managing purchases. Reviews invoices to ensure they match delivery notes and confirms receipt of products.
- Ensures the store is prepared for customer visits regarding merchandise availability, product labeling, and the rotation of perishable items.
- Verifies that product labeling adheres to store standards, aligns with the head office price list, and matches scanner cash register prices, ensuring compliance with promotional materials.
- Maintains adherence to planogram marketing standards.
- Responsible for developing employee work schedules.
- Ensures compliance with company policies, including reception and safety protocols, as well as occupational health and safety regulations.
- Involved in the onboarding, training, and assessment of employees.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Completion of Secondary School (Sec 5 or equivalent)
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in the food industry
