Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Legal Advisor to join our Legal & Risk Management team. As a trusted advisor, you will provide legal expertise to support the success of our operations across a broad range of practice areas.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Work closely with business units to provide counsel and support in a broad range of practice areas, including corporate law, commercial law, and regulatory compliance.
  2. Conduct legal research and provide advice to various department heads and executives on complex legal issues.
  3. Identify legal issues, research and analyze complicated situations, and develop practical solutions in an efficient and timely manner.
  4. Work closely with MNP's practitioners to proactively identify and manage legal risk, ensuring that our clients receive the best possible advice and service.
  5. Work closely with outside counsel and manage all stages of litigation, including negotiation and dispute resolution.
  6. Assist in the review and maintenance of corporate policies, ensuring that they are up-to-date and compliant with relevant laws and regulations.
  7. Draft concise and effective legal documents, including contracts, agreements, and other business-related documents.
  8. Develop working relationships with a variety of stakeholders, including clients, colleagues, and outside counsel.
  9. Write briefs on regulations, legal/compliance matters, and other ad hoc legal issues to defend legal position and provide guidance to team.
  10. Develop a thorough understanding of MNP's services, businesses, and industry, and contribute to the development of new ideas and approaches to improve work processes.
  11. Raise awareness of MNP at community events and contribute to the development of business development strategies.

Requirements

  1. 2 to 4 years post-call experience in a similar role.
  2. Demonstrated ability to identify legal issues, research and analyze complicated situations, and develop practical solutions.
  3. Customer service driven and able to work effectively in a team environment.
