About the Role
The Geomatics Division at Valard is focused on providing essential spatial services necessary for the construction, maintenance, mapping, and monitoring of electrical infrastructure. Utilizing cutting-edge geomatics technology such as GPS systems, terrestrial scanners, drones, and high-precision optical and infrared sensors, we ensure high-quality outcomes in our projects.
Our expertise in power infrastructure projects positions us as leaders in the field. The Valard Geomatics team comprises highly qualified engineers and technicians with extensive experience in various projects, including large transmission line constructions, renewable energy initiatives, remote inspections, and pipeline developments. We continuously strive to enhance efficiency and deliver exceptional value to our clients.
Position Summary
Valard's Geomatics Division is looking for Survey Assistants for long-term opportunities in North America, specifically for large-scale construction initiatives.
Key Details
- Company-provided truck and equipment
- Travel and accommodation expenses covered
- 20 days of work followed by 10 days off rotation
Responsibilities
- Conduct daily field survey tasks, including obtaining survey measurements and staking for infrastructure projects under the guidance of the Survey Crew Chief.
- Maintain effective communication with the Survey Crew Chief, Field Leads, Project Managers, Professional Land Surveyors, and Client Field Representatives.
- Interpret design drawings, field data, sketches, and base maps accurately.
- Travel as required based on project locations.
- Operate and maintain assigned survey equipment, including ATVs, UTVs, and necessary tools.
- Promote and adhere to Valard's Health, Safety, and Environmental Program.
Qualifications
- Prior experience in surveying within engineering, construction, or industrial settings.
- Valid Driver's License with a clean driving record.
- Technical diploma in Geomatics or Civil Engineering is preferred.
