Position Overview:

We are seeking a qualified Survey Party Chief to join our land surveying team in Alberta. The successful candidate will be responsible for gathering data in the field and collaborating with our experienced project managers on various survey projects.

Candidates must be prepared to travel as required. This role offers opportunities to engage in diverse projects and advance your career through our training and development programs.

General Responsibilities:

  • Conducts field surveys and collaborates closely with the Project Manager to meet all client objectives.
  • Prepares and submits necessary documentation to office personnel, including field notes, calculations, and other survey data.
  • Maintains effective communication with team members to ensure timely completion of tasks.
  • Adheres to all health and safety protocols as outlined in the company's safety procedures.
  • Proficiently operates and maintains survey equipment (GPS/GNSS Rovers, Total Stations, Locators, etc.) and ensures all company equipment and vehicles are in proper working order.

Qualifications:

  • Diploma in Geomatics or a related field, along with prior survey experience.
  • Experience in the energy sector or construction is advantageous.
  • Possession of a valid Class 5 driver's license.
  • Any relevant safety certifications (e.g., H2S, First Aid, CSTS, Wildlife Awareness) are beneficial.
  • Physical fitness is essential, as the role involves outdoor work in challenging conditions, often requiring the transportation of equipment over long distances.
