Position Summary

We are currently seeking a full-time, seasonal Land Survey Specialist to join our team. This role is essential for our operations in the Edmonton area, where our projects span various locations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Safety Duties:
    • Complete daily safety documentation.
    • Engage in toolbox discussions.
    • Participate in necessary safety training.
  • Daily Operations:
    • Collaborate with superintendents, estimators, project managers, and foremen to ensure all parties are aware of project requirements and timelines.
    • Utilize AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and Topcon software for surface modeling for 3D Machine Control.
    • Calculate interim and final quantities.
    • Gather and compile data for machine control GPS usage.
    • Monitor project progress on a monthly basis.
    • Track quantities using GPS technology.
    • Manage and troubleshoot GPS systems in various machinery.
    • Conduct grade checks and survey layouts.
    • Assist field personnel with 3D machine control.
    • Employ transit levels for elevation data layout.
    • Oversee file management and project cost tracking.
    • Conduct preliminary surveys.
    • Possess knowledge of road construction and operate Trimble Survey Equipment.

Qualifications

  • A diploma or degree in Civil Engineering with a C.E.T designation is preferred, though a combination of education and relevant field experience will be considered.

Experience Requirements

  • Land surveying expertise.
  • Experience with asphalt elevations.
  • Proficiency in GPS and Total Station technology.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
  • Ability to create TIN files and surfaces.
  • Experience in report generation and survey layout.
