The Opportunity

We are seeking a Claims Representative I to join our Claims team, which aspires to create peace of mind for our clients and communities. Our national team of knowledgeable and trusted professionals serves our clients with compassion, operating with high-integrity and motivated by our desire to do the right thing for our clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Investigate, negotiate, and settle service claims, including automobile, property, and commercial automobile claims, for the organization.
  • Contribute to the organization's client service culture through professional interactions with clients and implementing innovative and client-centric solutions.
  • Interpret and apply coverages, participate in major event responses, and negotiate and settle service claims with a focus on behavior-based outcomes.
  • Communicate with clients to deliver clear messages and resolve concerns while liaising with stakeholders to ensure the efficient and timely settlement of claims.
  • Investigate and identify opportunities for salvage and subrogation recoveries using approved guidelines and procedures.
  • Support the organization by sharing claims handling knowledge and feedback to key business partners on process efficiencies to enhance the client experience.

Requirements

  • One year of experience in insurance or a related field.
  • Post-secondary education in insurance or a related discipline.
  • Provincial Adjuster Licence (Claim Adjuster and Personal Lines Autorité des Marchés Financiers) and working towards the Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) designation and Commercial Licence is an asset.
  • Experience working in a contact centre, including in-depth knowledge of client service principles.
  • Basic knowledge of insurance and insurance claims, policy wordings, the vehicle repair process, provincial legislations, and regulations.
  • Proficiency in French is essential to the main duties in this role, including servicing and communicating primarily with majority francophone clients, groups, and teams.
