POSITION: Registered Nurse

PRIMARY SITE: Integrated Stroke Unit/Telemetry

REPORTS TO: Manager, Critical Care, Telemetry/ISU and Cardiorespiratory

DATE REQUIRED: As soon as possible

SALARY: Competitive hourly rate

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be a current registered member in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario.

EXPERIENCE:
- Preferred recent clinical experience (minimum two years) in Stroke Care/Rehabilitation.
- Relevant recent courses or in-services in Stroke Care/Rehabilitation nursing are preferred.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Proficient in planning, organizing, and problem-solving.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Excellent physical assessment capabilities.
- Familiarity with interpreting typical and atypical telemetry and cardiac monitoring is preferred.

REQUIRED SKILLS (to be completed within 3 months of hire):
- Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Recent Basic Cardiac Arrhythmia course or equivalent (current experience).
- Recent 12 lead ECG interpretation course, or equivalent (current experience).

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
- Applicants may be eligible for Canada Student Loan Forgiveness and Tuition Support Program for Nurses.
- Successful candidates who have not previously worked as a nurse in Ontario may qualify for a commitment bonus in exchange for a two-year service commitment.
