POSITION: Registered Nurse
PRIMARY SITE: Integrated Stroke Unit/Telemetry (Acute Stroke, Stroke Rehabilitation)
REPORTS TO: Manager, Critical Care, Telemetry/ISU and Cardiorespiratory
REQUIRED DATE: As soon as possible
SALARY: Competitive hourly rate
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be a current registered member in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario
EXPERIENCE:
- Preferred: Recent clinical experience (minimum two years) in Stroke Care/Rehabilitation
- Preferred: Recent/related courses or in-services in Stroke Care/Rehabilitation nursing
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Proficient in planning, organizing, and problem-solving
- Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development
- Capable of working independently and collaboratively as part of a team
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Strong physical assessment skills
- Ability to interpret telemetry and cardiac monitoring, both typical and atypical, is preferred
REQUIRED SKILLS (to be completed within 3 months of hire):
- Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
- Recent Basic Cardiac Arrhythmia course or equivalent (current experience)
- Recent 12 lead ECG interpretation course, or equivalent (current experience)

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
- Applicants may be eligible for Canada Student Loan Forgiveness and Tuition Support Program for Nurses programs.
- Successful applicants who have not yet been employed as a nurse within Ontario may be eligible for a commitment bonus in exchange for a two-year commitment of service.
