Position Overview

The Sales Support Specialist serves as a crucial link between TerraSource Global and its clients, addressing inquiries related to quotes, orders, and other customer needs. This role involves identifying and providing solutions to customer challenges.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Utilizing the JD Edwards software system to manage inquiries, orders, and requests from both domestic and international clients via various communication channels.
  • Interpreting technical drawings and specifications to accurately assess customer requirements and deliver precise information and quotes.
  • Employing the company's CRM system (Salesforce) to document cases, collaborate with engineering and supply chain teams, and facilitate timely quotations and proposals.
  • Responding promptly to customer requests regarding parts availability, pricing, delivery timelines, and order tracking.
  • Maintaining and updating customer accounts in the ERP database in accordance with departmental protocols.
  • Gathering necessary documentation for credit assessments, including Letters of Reference and Bank References, and coordinating with accounting for credit limit approvals.
  • Proactively following up on all quotations within established timeframes.
  • Developing a comprehensive understanding of company products, customer needs, and internal procedures related to pricing and accounting.
  • Engaging with customers in a manner that fosters trust and confidence in TerraSource Global and its offerings.
  • Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.

Supervisory Duties

This role does not entail any supervisory responsibilities.

Educational Requirements

A Bachelor's degree (preferably in engineering) or a comparable 3-year technical degree (DEC) along with 1-3 years of relevant customer service experience or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience with a focus on customer service and technical sales.

Language Proficiency:

English (Written and Spoken) - required; French is an asset.

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret various business documents, professional publications, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Capable of composing reports, business correspondence, and procedural manuals. Proficient in presenting information and addressing inquiries from diverse groups, including managers, clients, and the general public.

Mathematical Competence: Ability to perform calculations involving discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, margins, markups, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Familiarity with basic algebra and geometry concepts is essential.

Reasoning Skills: Capable of planning and executing a wide range of tasks that require a solid understanding of company policies and procedures relevant to the responsibilities of the role, including adapting standard procedures to accommodate unique situations and making informed decisions based on established precedents.

Additional Skills and Qualifications
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and other PC applications.
  • Experience with CRM and ERP systems, particularly Salesforce and JD Edwards, is highly advantageous.
  • Demonstrated experience in a related field.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings is a plus.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license in good standing.

Travel Requirements

Minimal travel may be required for training and conferences.

Physical Requirements

To successfully perform the duties of this position, the employee must be able to sit, stand, walk, use hands for handling and feeling, reach with hands and arms, and communicate effectively. The role may involve assisting with general office and warehouse tasks, including shipping and receiving, and may require lifting items weighing up to 30 lbs.
