Logistics and Customer Support Specialist

Position Overview:

  • The Logistics and Customer Support Specialist plays a vital role in the RecordXpress team, responsible for operating the shredding vehicle and providing daily service to our customers. As the public representative of RecordXpress, this role requires a commitment to safety and professionalism while maintaining a strong focus on customer satisfaction. Adherence to NAID protocols for secure document destruction is essential.

Working Hours:

Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM

On-call availability may be required occasionally.

Driving and Operational Responsibilities:

  • Safely driving company vehicles to service locations while following all traffic regulations and practicing defensive driving.
  • A valid driver's license with a clean driving record is mandatory.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and French (verbal and basic written communication) is preferred.
  • Successful candidates must pass both basic and enhanced background checks upon hiring and periodically thereafter.
  • Permanent residency or citizenship is required.
  • Experience and certification in operating forklifts and other machinery is advantageous.
  • This position involves both driving and performing standard warehouse tasks; it is not solely driving.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs is necessary.
  • Basic computer skills (email, Excel, Word) are required.
  • Exhibiting courtesy towards other drivers, as the driving behavior reflects the reputation of RecordXpress.
  • Operating the vehicle in a safe and unobtrusive manner.
  • Utilizing portable computing devices to access account information, input data, and print receipts for customers.
  • Managing the emptying of consoles, counting bins, and loading them into the truck-mounted shredder.
  • Operating and troubleshooting the truck-mounted shredding equipment.
  • Delivering and installing bins and consoles for clients.
  • Disposing of shredded materials at designated waste collection sites while adhering to their regulations.
  • Conducting routine maintenance checks and pre/post-trip inspections according to the maintenance schedule.
  • Shredding documents collected in service bay bins at the end of the day.
  • Maintaining a clean and organized service bay.
  • Labeling bins and consoles appropriately and managing inventory of ready-to-use bins and consoles.
  • Refueling vehicles as needed.
  • Completing and submitting routine reports.

Customer Service Responsibilities:

  • Building and maintaining positive relationships with customer contacts.
  • Addressing customer inquiries, concerns, and feedback promptly.
  • Collaborating with the service manager and sales team to enhance customer service efforts.
  • Following NAID protocols to ensure secure and confidential document shredding for clients.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • High School Diploma
  • A valid driver's license with a clean driving record is essential.
  • Air brake endorsement is a plus.
  • Completion of a Defensive Driving Course is beneficial.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Mechanical aptitude with the ability to perform routine vehicle maintenance.
  • 1-2 years of face-to-face customer service experience, preferably in an industrial or service sector.
  • Effective organizational skills for prioritizing tasks and managing time efficiently.
  • High level of integrity and a strong work ethic.
  • Professional demeanor in high-pressure situations.
  • Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
  • Proficient in computer usage.

Physical Requirements/Work Environment:

  • Must be able to work in both indoor and outdoor settings.
  • Manual dexterity is required for using desktop computers and peripherals.
  • Above-average physical activity, including lifting up to 75 lbs consistently and bending as necessary.
