The role of the sales specialist for after-sales support is to establish, qualify, and maintain relationships with our clientele in the region while enhancing sales of parts and service solutions through technical knowledge and exceptional rapport with planning agents.

As a sales specialist in after-sales support, YOU will have the opportunity to:

On a typical day, YOU will undertake the following responsibilities:

  • Exhibit safe and environmentally conscious work practices at all times in accordance with Toromont's health and safety policies and initiatives
  • Promote and boost parts sales, exchange components, and provide customer support to secure contracts
  • Contribute to the development of programs aimed at achieving service objectives to support clients
  • Assist in creating marketing and prospecting strategies and closing tactics for new opportunities
  • Deliver presentations to advocate for Caterpillar parts and services at our service facilities
  • Collaborate with clients to minimize operating costs of their Caterpillar fleet through failure-based repairs, preventive maintenance, and predictive maintenance (scheduled component replacements, contamination control)
  • Work alongside machine sales representatives and internal sales teams to foster a collaborative sales approach
  • Develop and execute an annual territory strategy in alignment with regional and corporate goals
  • Keep clients informed about new Caterpillar products and services
  • Monitor competitor communications or advertising to ensure our clients receive the most competitive pricing

Requirements for this position:

  • Post-secondary education
  • A minimum of five years of experience in an after-sales service sales role
  • Mechanical and electrical knowledge
  • Familiarity with the marine industry
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
