Position Overview

The Sales Support Specialist serves as a vital link between TerraSource Global and its clientele, addressing inquiries related to quotations, orders, and various customer needs. This role involves investigating challenges faced by customers and proposing effective solutions.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Utilizing the JD Edwards software system to manage inquiries, orders, and requests from both domestic and international clients via multiple communication channels.
  • Interpreting technical drawings and systems to accurately assess customer requirements and provide precise information and quotes.
  • Leveraging the company's CRM (Salesforce) to document cases, collaborate with engineering and supply chain teams, and expedite the preparation of quotations and proposals.
  • Responding promptly to customer requests regarding parts availability, pricing, delivery timelines, and order tracking.
  • Maintaining and updating customer accounts in the ERP database in accordance with departmental protocols.
  • Gathering necessary information for credit assessments, including Letters of Reference and Bank References, and coordinating with accounting for credit limit approvals.
  • Proactively following up on all quotations within established timeframes.
  • Acquiring and maintaining a comprehensive understanding of company products, customer expectations, and internal procedures related to pricing and accounting.
  • Ensuring customer interactions foster confidence in TerraSource Global, its offerings, and its personnel.
  • Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.

Supervisory Role

This position does not entail any supervisory responsibilities.

Educational Requirements

A Bachelor's degree (preferably in engineering) or a comparable 3-year technical degree (DEC) along with 1-3 years of relevant customer service experience or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience with a focus on customer service and technical sales.

Language Proficiency:

English (Written and Spoken) - required; French is an advantage.

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business publications, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Capable of writing reports, business correspondence, and procedural manuals. Proficient in presenting information and addressing inquiries from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Mathematical Proficiency: Ability to compute figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, margins, markups, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Familiarity with basic algebra and geometry concepts is essential.

Reasoning Skills: Ability to plan and execute a variety of tasks requiring a general understanding of company policies and procedures relevant to the responsibilities of the role, including their application to unique cases. Requires significant judgment to work independently towards overall objectives, developing methods, modifying standard procedures to adapt to varying conditions, and making decisions based on precedent and company policies.

Additional Skills and Qualifications
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and other PC applications.
  • Experience with CRM and ERP systems is highly beneficial (Salesforce and JD Edwards).
  • Demonstrated experience in a related field.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings is a plus.
  • Must hold a valid driver's license in good standing.

Travel Requirements

Occasional travel may be necessary for conferences and training purposes.


Physical Requirements

To successfully perform this role, the physical demands listed are representative of those that must be met by an employee. While executing the responsibilities of this position, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, use hands to handle and feel, reach with hands and arms, talk, and hear. The employee will also assist with general office and warehouse tasks, including but not limited to shipping and receiving. Occasionally, the employee may lift items weighing up to 30 lbs.
