About the Role

Tolko Industries is seeking a skilled Maintenance Supervisor to join our Heffley Creek division in Kamloops, British Columbia. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for leading a team of maintenance personnel to ensure the safe and efficient operation of our facilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of maintenance personnel to achieve quality maintenance activities in a safe and proactive manner.
  • Ensure the team delivers quality maintenance activities in a safe and proactive manner.
  • Be accountable for scheduling, organizing, and safely achieving targeted production levels of quality veneer or plywood.
  • Regularly inspect and ensure equipment is maintained to reduce downtime and improve efficiency.
  • Identify areas for improvement and implement changes as necessary.
  • Ensure that maintenance targets and schedules are met as forecasted.
  • Ensure all work is performed safely and in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Establish, coordinate, and direct all maintenance activities for hourly and contract workers.
  • Take an active role in the hiring process of the maintenance team. Provide ongoing training and development opportunities for team members.

Requirements

  • Three to five years of maintenance supervisory experience.
  • Red Seal Certification required; Millwright ticket preferred.
  • Post Secondary in Mechanical Engineering, forestry, or business would be considered a strong asset.
  • Sawmill and/or manufacturing experience is preferred.
  • Effective communication, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Ability to work a variety of shifts, including evenings and weekends, as we are a 24/7 operation.
  • Reliable means of transportation to and from work.
